HVAC Project Manager

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for an HVAC Project Manager to act as the on-site project leader, planning, executing and completing assigned projects while ensuring client satisfaction. The role delegates tasks, coordinates with customers and manages subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Meet clients to define and document their requirements and expectations.
• Produce, review and implement tender documentation such as pre-construction information, schedules, work specifications, schematics and drawings.
• Manage a portfolio of approved mechanical and electrical contractors and oversee their work.
• Oversee project cost procurement, including analysis, appraisal and budgeting.
• Monitor timelines, milestones and milestones, and verify that M&E services are installed to specification.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and fire regulations and company policies, and report non-compliance to the line manager.
• Maintain certifications, documents, drawings and financial records for each project.
• Provide technical support to other departments and produce progress reports for management.
• Define project scope, change orders, pricing strategies (fixed price, T&M, GMP) and closeout requirements.
• Run pre-job meetings with the Operations Manager, reporting controls and safety personnel, and circulate minutes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in construction, design and cost management as an Electrical/Mechanical Project Manager or similar role in a commercial, institutional or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems is required.
• Preferred: experience managing large commercial, institutional and industrial projects valued at N10 million and above.
• Demonstrated estimating experience and knowledge of site surveying, project sequencing, materials and electrical systems.
