Import & Logistics Specialist

About the role

KLA, which makes inspection tools and metrology systems for the electronics industry, is hiring an Import & Logistics Specialist in Singapore. The role sits within the Global Operations (GOPS) team, which covers manufacturing, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, installation and quality, and works with the global supply base to deliver faster, better and more cost-efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and track inbound shipments from supplier to warehouse, and proactively expedite critical, time-sensitive shipments to avoid production disruption.
• Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, buyers, planners and suppliers, and investigate and resolve delays, transit exceptions, customs clearance issues and documentation discrepancies.
• Provide regular shipment status updates, support transportation visibility and escalation of risks to stakeholders.
• Act as logistics contact for buyers on complex shipment issues, coordinate with forwarders and suppliers, and escalate unresolved issues to logistics management.
• Alert warehouse operations to urgent shipments and special handling requirements, and arrange after-hours or weekend deliveries when needed.
• Investigate lost, damaged or short shipments, prepare and follow up cargo claims with carriers and forwarders, and maintain claim records and corrective action tracking.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business Administration or 10 years of freight operations management experience in forwarders or as a shipper/consignee, with knowledge of scheduling flow, freight operations and customs procedures.
• Strong customer service, communication, prioritisation and organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment.
• Team player with a process improvement mindset.

Required skills

• SAP experience or similar.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Teams, OneNote, Excel, Word and Outlook.
