Indirect Tax Accountant

About the role

The Indirect Tax Accountant will collaborate with local accountants in Singapore and APAC under the supervision of the tax manager. The role focuses on indirect tax compliance, advisory, and supporting audit activities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Work with local country accountants in Singapore and APAC under supervision of the tax manager.
• Prepare or review VAT/GST/WHT returns.
• Provide ad‑hoc indirect tax advice to sales, purchases, accounts payable, credit, and operations departments.
• Support indirect tax audits.
• Analyse and implement best practices and internal controls for tax‑sensitive processes such as entertainment expenses, company cars, import VAT reconciliation, export documentation, and zero‑rated/exempt sales.
• Configure the indirect tax determination engine.
• Contribute as a regional subject‑matter expert to projects like ERP implementation, transformation initiatives, and e‑invoicing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, taxation or a related field.
• CPA/CA qualification (or near completion) preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with accounting background.
• Knowledge of pertinent tax laws, codes and regulations.

Required skills

• Preparation and review of VAT/GST/WHT returns.
• Indirect tax advisory and compliance.
• Support for indirect tax audits.
• Implementation of tax‑related internal controls.
• Configuration of indirect tax determination engines.
• Experience with ERP and e‑invoicing projects.
