Information Technology Consultant

About the role

This contract position is part of a strategic transformation initiative aimed at designing, developing and modernising a suite of software applications that support core business operations and enhance user experience. The role reports directly to the programme governance team and works within an Agile environment to deliver scalable, future‑ready platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test and debug Java‑based applications that meet business and user requirements.
• Develop high‑performance, scalable architectures using Spring Boot and micro‑service patterns.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and project leads to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Resolve software defects and technical issues promptly to ensure application stability.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices in coding, testing and documentation.
• Work within cross‑functional Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation for application design, workflows and deployments.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and developing micro‑services and APIs.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience operating in Agile/Scrum environments.
