Integrated Logistics Systems (ILS) Technical Writer

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Integrated Logistics Systems (ILS) Technical Writer to create, edit and manage technical documentation that supports complex engineering products throughout their lifecycle. The role works closely with engineering, logistics, maintenance, training and program management teams to deliver clear, accurate publications for operators, maintainers and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, edit and maintain operation manuals, maintenance manuals, repair procedures, illustrated parts catalogues, technical handbooks and training materials.
• Support Integrated Logistics Support activities by reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and design documents to produce accurate logistics documentation.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware and software developers, logisticians and subject‑matter experts to gather technical information and participate in design and logistics supportability reviews.
• Maintain document configurations, revisions and version control in line with quality and configuration management processes.
• Verify technical accuracy, completeness and traceability of publications and support audits, customer reviews and baseline releases.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communications, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 3–8 years of experience in technical writing, technical publications or logistics support for defense, aerospace, military or complex systems programs.
• Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and system specifications and to produce user‑friendly documentation.
