Intern, Facilities AI Engineering

About the role

Micron Technology, Inc. is offering an internship in its Facilities Engineering department in Singapore (Fab 10N), focused on applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, automation and digital technologies to semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The project develops AI-enabled solutions that improve equipment reliability, predictive analytics, operational efficiency, knowledge accessibility and engineering decision-making. High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time positions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse operational and sensor data to identify equipment trends, anomalies and optimisation opportunities.
• Develop AI or machine learning prototypes for predictive maintenance and equipment monitoring.
• Create dashboards, visualisation tools or automation workflows that support engineering decisions.
• Explore AI-enabled knowledge-management solutions that improve information accessibility and reuse.
• Deliver AI prototypes or proof-of-concept solutions, data analytics dashboards, predictive models or anomaly-detection solutions, and a final report with recommendations and business value.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in AI, machine learning, data science, computer science, software or computer engineering, electrical, mechanical or mechatronics engineering, or a related field.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of 5 months from January to June 2027.
• Curiosity to learn emerging technologies; familiarity with generative AI, AI assistants or AI-enabled workflows is an advantage.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, data analytics or statistics.
• Programming in Python, SQL or a similar language.
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Understanding of databases, data processing and software development principles.
