About the role
Micron is looking for an intern in its NAND Probe Product Engineering team in Singapore to work on a structured learning and innovation project focused on test mode development, silicon validation and AI-enabled engineering solutions for advanced NAND technologies. The intern works alongside experienced Product and Design Engineers and explores how AI, machine learning, automation and generative AI can improve test effectiveness and engineering learning.
Key responsibilities
- Learn NAND architecture, probe testing, Design for Test (DFT) and test mode integration practices.
- Analyze engineering datasets to find product behaviour, yield learning opportunities and failure patterns.
- Investigate ways to improve test observability, diagnostics, test coverage and engineering learning efficiency.
- Apply AI, machine learning, automation and generative AI to engineering use cases.
- Explore NAND architecture, test algorithms and DFT capabilities, and test mode development and silicon validation methods.
- Study data analysis, visualisation and automation techniques using Python, machine learning and modern analytics tools.
- Develop proof-of-concept AI assistants, agentic AI or LLM-based solutions that improve knowledge retrieval, documentation and analytical workflows.
- Evaluate technical observations and propose improvements to product learning and engineering efficiency.
Deliverables
- A technical assessment summarising observations and improvement opportunities.
- Analytical dashboards, visualisation tools, automation prototypes or data exploration solutions.
- An AI-enabled proof-of-concept, ML model, AI assistant, agentic AI solution or workflow automation prototype.
- A technical report and presentation covering objectives, methodology, findings, recommendations and limitations.
Required profile
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Data Science, AI or Semiconductor Physics, or a related discipline.
- Interest in semiconductor technologies, data analytics and AI-enabled engineering.
- Ability to commit to a full-time 5-month internship.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and effective communication in a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Understanding of semiconductor devices, integrated circuit testing or related engineering fields.
- Programming in Python, MATLAB or similar, shown through coursework or projects.
- Familiarity with AI, large language models, machine learning, workflow automation and agentic AI concepts.
Successful completion may lead to consideration for full-time roles at Micron, subject to business needs, performance and qualifications.
