Intern - Process and Equipment Engineer (Photolithography Software)

About the role

Micron's Photolithography Engineering team in Singapore is looking for an intern to join its Large-Scale Photolithography Software Stack Integration project. Photolithography is a highly software-intensive manufacturing process in semiconductors, and the team works with process, equipment, data and manufacturing engineers to turn large manufacturing data into actionable insights and automated workflows. The internship runs for 5 months, from January to May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop desktop, web-based, backend or data-centric applications for photolithography engineering use cases.
• Integrate lithography equipment, databases, Manufacturing Execution Systems and engineering platforms via APIs and data interfaces.
• Build scalable data pipelines, visualization platforms, monitoring solutions and workflow automation frameworks for process, equipment and yield analytics.
• Explore AI, machine learning or Agentic AI approaches to strengthen engineering analysis and decision support.
• Apply modern software engineering practices including version control, testing, deployment and maintainable architecture.
• Deliver a production-quality application, dashboard, workflow automation or AI-enabled decision-support solution, along with source code, test evidence, documentation and a final technical presentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline.
• Ability to commit to a full-time 5-month internship (January to May 2027).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Required skills

• Working-level experience in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, C#, Go or shell scripting, with familiarity with Linux or UNIX.
• Familiarity with Git, SQL, CI/CD, containerization and automated testing frameworks.
• Preferred: web frameworks, cloud, microservices, data engineering, machine learning, and semiconductor manufacturing systems or PostgreSQL/Oracle.
