Intern, Software Development Engineer (AEC-AutoCAD Backend)

About the role

AutoCAD, the leading computer-aided design software, is looking for a Backend Software Engineer intern to build and support its cloud services ecosystem. You will join the AutoCAD backend team that builds, expands and maintains the cloud solutions for the multi-platform AutoCAD application serving millions of users, using modern stacks such as Python, Django, Java, AWS, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, Dynatrace and Docker. Recruitment is by an on-site in-person drive from 9 October to 6 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Research and recommend the best approach to solve a given problem.
• Take part in the research, design, development, deployment and monitoring of cross-platform AutoCAD features, bringing a centralized backend perspective.
• Adopt best practices and market-standard technologies and methodologies.
• Collaborate with colleagues inside and outside the team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's program in Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant field.
• In the penultimate or final year of study, graduating in 2027 or 2028.
• Comfortable working in new, ambiguous areas where learning and adaptability matter.
• Strong communication skills, oral and visual, and good teamwork with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Node.js or JavaScript.
• Preferred: experience with AWS-based architecture and previous back-end development experience.

The internship runs from 11 January to 25 June 2027. The role may require in-person onboarding and identity verification.
