IT Technical Specialist – Field Service Technician

About the role

Micron Technology is seeking an IT Technical Specialist to join its Field Service team. You will classify customer‑reported issues, meet defined response timelines, and ensure a compliant desktop environment through hardware and software maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to incidents based on priority: immediate contact for Priority 1, within 1 hour for Priority 2, and within 12 hours for Priority 3.
• Maintain detailed daily incident documentation and keep customers and colleagues informed.
• Update and consult the Worldwide Knowledgebase and Field Services Best Practice Library.
• Classify workstations by Managed Level, PC type, Windows patch level, and anti‑virus status to support uptime targets.
• Perform installations, upgrades, and backups of software and hardware applications.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems related to PCs.
• Provide high‑level customer service while working a permanent day shift (8:00 am–5:30 pm, Monday‑Friday) with flexibility for alternative shifts.

Required profile

• Diploma in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent.
• Prior experience in field service or desktop support is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, follow documented procedures, and communicate status updates clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating systems and patch management.
• Experience maintaining PC hardware and performing hardware repairs.
• Network troubleshooting skills to identify connectivity issues affecting PCs.
