Junior Computer Software Engineer – Database & Storage

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Computer Software Engineer to join our Database & Storage Infrastructure team in Singapore. You will help design, develop, and maintain large‑scale distributed database and storage platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software, as well as utility programs for large‑scale database and storage systems.
• Analyze user and system requirements and create software solutions using core computer‑science principles.
• Update and enhance existing software, and lead testing and validation for database and storage services.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software, contributing to performance specifications.
• Build tooling and automation for monitoring, capacity planning, backup, and incident response.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and resolve production incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin and English.
• Basic understanding of database concepts such as indexing, transactions, ACID, MVCC, Raft, sharding, CAP, and high availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Golang, Java, Python, Rust.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
• Familiarity with databases and storage technologies: MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HDFS, HBase.
