Junior Respiratory Medical Technologist

About the role

NHG is hiring a Junior Respiratory Medical Technologist for Woodlands Health, AHP. The role carries out the operation and maintenance of pulmonary physiology and/or polysomnography equipment under the supervision of the Respiratory Medical Technologist / Respiratory Therapist.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine pulmonary physiology tests, polysomnography tests and ambulatory sleep tests under supervision.
• Generate accurate reports and maintain patient records in the departmental database.
• Schedule test appointments and follow-up appointments as needed.
• Carry out routine calibration and maintenance of equipment, troubleshoot errors and check, maintain and manage inventory for the PFT Lab, Sleep Lab and ICU.
• Assist in clinical research activities and help with in-house training and workshops.
• Keep the laboratory clean and orderly, take part in hospital projects and community outreach, and uphold patient-centred care and safety.
• Take part in quality assurance, quality improvement and infection control, and stay updated on evidence-based guidelines.

Required profile

• Diploma in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent.
• BCLS certificate (to be obtained after joining).
