About the role
SingHealth is hiring a Laboratory Assistant for its Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. The role sits in a healthcare environment and involves specimen handling, test order entry and answering enquiries about laboratory tests.
Key responsibilities
- Sort specimens sent to the laboratories
- Key test orders into the computer system
- Answer phone enquiries regarding laboratory tests
- Drawing blood from mostly paediatric patients using the finger-prick technique; training is provided
Required profile
- GCE "N" / "O" Level, or NITEC in Biomedical Science / Nursing
- Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm
- Willingness to work rotating shift duties based on roster
- Prior experience in a similar setting and familiarity with laboratory terminology is an advantage
