Lead Cost Controller - Maritime

About the role

An established global player in the maritime industry is expanding its finance and controlling team in Singapore. As a Lead Cost Controller, you will own the financial monitoring of a portfolio of vessels, working closely with operational teams to understand cost movements, challenge variances and identify ways to improve cost efficiency. You will act as a key business partner to the vessel and ship management teams and as a functional reference for the local management control team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead detailed cost monitoring and variance analysis across a portfolio of vessels, tracking operating costs against standards and budgets
• Partner with operational stakeholders to challenge cost performance, give financial insights and identify cost optimisation opportunities
• Drive the budgeting, forecasting and monthly closing processes, ensuring accurate and complete financial information and reporting
• Support and guide the local management control team and contribute to process improvements, reporting tools and best practices

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with solid experience in management control, cost control or FP&A
• Strong experience in detailed cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, ideally in an operational or asset-intensive environment
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls, with strong attention to data accuracy
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills, confident challenging operational teams
