Lead Developer

About the role

Thoughtworks is looking for a Lead Developer to act as the primary point of contact for clients and guide delivery teams from concept to production. You will combine strategic thinking with hands‑on coding to bring technical visions to life while fostering a culture of quality and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Champion best practices such as clean, reusable code, TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
• Oversee the full software consulting lifecycle, from ideation through evolution in production.
• Advocate continuous delivery and DevSecOps practices to deliver high‑quality software early.
• Design pragmatic solutions, select appropriate technologies, and make trade‑offs within client constraints.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teammates to build features, prototypes and ensure UX standards.
• Apply Thoughtworks’ Technology Radar insights to solve client problems.
• Code alongside developers, staying technically active rather than purely managerial.
• Mentor and support team members, promoting an inclusive and feedback‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Full‑stack developer experienced with Vue or TypeScript.
• Proven leadership of software teams using Agile, Lean or Continuous Delivery methods.
• Strong knowledge of TDD, continuous integration, pair programming and infrastructure automation.
• Passion for continuous learning in areas such as functional programming, event‑driven architecture or platform engineering.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and guide technical vision.
