Lead/Senior Engineer – IoT/IIoT

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead/Senior Engineer to drive end‑to‑end development of innovative IoT and IIoT products. You will own the design, build and deployment of IoT‑enabled electrical and embedded systems, guiding projects from concept through mass production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full product lifecycle (NPI) for new IoT/IIoT categories, translating technical challenges into clear design requirements, building prototypes and validating designs for production.
• Define overall system architecture and lead complex hardware development, including firmware, PCB layout, sensor integration, power circuits and communication interfaces.
• Ensure reliable connectivity between industrial equipment, edge devices and cloud platforms, implementing sensing strategies, edge compute and data ingestion/storage solutions.
• Conduct laboratory validation, troubleshooting and optimisation of circuits, protocols and system performance, defining metrics to guide product decisions.
• Collaborate with software, quality and operations teams and external partners, providing technical planning, effort estimates and risk management.
• Apply engineering best practices for cybersecurity, change control and compliance with global IoT standards (e.g., ETSI, CISPR, Bluetooth SIG, UK PSTI).

Required profile

• Degree or Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on hardware or system design experience with a proven track record in embedded solutions.
• Resilient, methodical and curious approach to design, able to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Comfort with governance constraints such as auditability, security and privacy, delivering practical solutions within them.

Required skills

• Design experience with SoC/Processors, DDR4, Flash memory, USB, PCIe, NVMe and GbE technologies.
• Strong background in wireless design and validation (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE).
• Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., KiCad).
• Familiarity with industrial networking (VLANs, switches, firewalls).
• Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles, endpoint security and remote device management.
• Additional experience in RF engineering and antenna design is a plus.
