Lecturer – Information Technology (School of Informatics & IT)

About the role

The School of Informatics & IT is seeking a Lecturer in Information Technology to deliver face‑to‑face and online lessons to full‑time and part‑time students. The role includes supervising project work, assessing performance, and contributing to curriculum development and research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face and online lessons, scheduling classes during day, evening or weekends as required.
• Supervise and develop student capabilities in project work, including e‑learning, industry‑sponsored projects, hackathons and innovation challenges.
• Assess and evaluate student assignments, maintain accurate records of performance and attendance, and provide constructive feedback.
• Coach and mentor students to support their academic, professional and personal development.
• Participate in curriculum development, subject review, assessment design and continuous improvement to ensure industry relevance.
• Contribute to applied research, innovation initiatives, outreach activities and strategic projects undertaken by the school.
• Adhere to the Polytechnic's policies, procedures and quality‑assurance requirements governing teaching and academic conduct.

Required profile

• Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related computing discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in software engineering, AI‑enabled applications, cloud technologies, data engineering or digital product development.
• Passion for teaching, mentoring and developing learners of all ages.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with industry partners and multidisciplinary teams.
