Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Continuing Education & Training

About the role

The School of Applied Science seeks a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to design and deliver Continuing Education & Training (CET) programmes for adult learners. You will develop curriculum in cutting‑edge scientific areas and mentor professionals to enhance workplace learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop curriculum for CET programmes in at least two subject areas such as AI Applications, Environmental Services, Agricultural Sciences, Food Manufacturing, Nutrition, Data Science, Biological Sciences, Radiation Protection, etc.
• Deliver scheduled classes on weekday evenings or weekends, using practical, learner‑centred teaching methods.
• Provide mentorship and support to adult learners, helping them apply new knowledge on the job.
• Engage with industry partners, assist companies in creating structured on‑the‑job training (OJT) plans, and foster collaborative projects.
• Lead or participate in applied research and workplace consultancy initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Applied Sciences, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of industry experience in science, education, marketing, workplace learning, business development or consultancy.
• TAE/WSQ certifications (e.g., Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance, Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment, Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education) are an advantage.
• Passion for lifelong learning and ability to facilitate training for diverse working professionals.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build relationships with industry stakeholders.
