Legal Consultant - GMSLA

About the role

We are currently on the lookout for legal consultants with strong GMSLA experience to join our ranks and support our Fortune 500 financial services client. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating GMSLA agreements and related trading and collateral documents while collaborating closely with front‑office and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate GMSLAs and related trading/collateral documents.
• Support front office and operations on legal and commercial issues in securities lending.
• Work with risk, compliance, and external counsel to ensure documents meet regulatory and internal standards.
• Help maintain template agreements and playbooks to improve consistency and speed of negotiations.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in GMSLA negotiation and documentation (qualified or non‑qualified negotiator).
• Good understanding of securities lending and collateral/margin mechanics.
• Minimum of 3 years’ post‑qualification experience in GMSLA or equivalent senior negotiating experience.
• Clear communicator and confident negotiator able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
