Library Officer – Mobile Library Service (MOLLY)

About the role

The National Library Board is looking for a Library Officer to drive its mobile library service, MOLLY. You will help bring books and learning experiences to families, persons with disabilities and underserved communities across Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Promote MOLLY’s collection and services during outreach events, offering book recommendations and setting up displays.
• Conduct engaging programmes such as storytelling sessions and roadshows.
• Provide high‑quality customer service, handling email enquiries, membership registrations and follow‑ups.
• Train, supervise and support temporary staff and volunteers in patron engagement and collection maintenance.
• Maintain MOLLY’s facilities and ensure operational readiness.
• Support daily operations: staff rostering, site inspections, driver supervision, reporting, incident management and financial administration.
• Build and nurture partnerships with community organisations and stakeholders to expand MOLLY’s reach.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in community outreach, engagement or a similar role.
• Passion for promoting reading and serving diverse communities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to build relationships with varied stakeholders.
• Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams.
• Experience supervising staff and maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
