Lighting Designer – Singapore

About the role

Light Directions, an independent lighting design firm with over 36 years of experience in the Asia‑Pacific region, is looking for a passionate and creative Lighting Designer to join its Singapore team. The role involves developing lighting design concepts, preparing presentations, drafting layouts, selecting luminaires, performing calculations and producing renderings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and communicate lighting design concepts for architectural projects.
• Prepare presentation materials, CAD drawings and lighting layouts.
• Select appropriate luminaires, specify products and conduct lighting calculations.
• Create renderings, sketches and visualisations to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines.
• Coordinate on‑site as needed and leverage AI tools to expedite presentation work.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• 2–3 years of experience in architectural lighting design.
• Strong understanding of lighting technology and its performance in real environments.
• Proactive, initiative‑driven and able to work independently while supporting team objectives.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.
