Linux Platform Operations Engineer – Singapore

About the role

This position is for a Linux Platform Operations Engineer supporting critical trading platforms and low‑latency infrastructure in a global financial markets technology business. You will work hands‑on with on‑premise Linux systems, automation, and incident response across production, disaster‑recovery and test environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain Linux server infrastructure across global production environments.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux issues across operating systems, hardware, storage, networking, performance, and application layers.
• Manage bare‑metal infrastructure, OS lifecycle, patching, upgrades and system configuration.
• Develop and improve automation tooling using Python, Shell scripting or similar technologies.
• Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis, post‑incident reviews and long‑term remediation.
• Assist with monitoring, observability, reporting and health checks for critical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering, SRE, security and operations teams on capacity planning, performance tuning and production change activities.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on Linux systems administration experience in a production environment.
• Excellent command‑line and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience supporting on‑premise, bare‑metal or hardware‑based infrastructure.
• Good scripting ability, preferably with Python and/or Shell.
• Familiarity with configuration management, patching, monitoring and operational tooling.
• Knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, RAID or NVMe (beneficial).
• Exposure to tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Salt, Terraform, Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or GCP (advantageous).
• Ability to work calmly in a critical, low‑latency production environment.
