Logistic Operations Intern (Industrial Engineering)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is offering a full-time Logistic Operations Intern position in Singapore. The intern learns the day-to-day of a highly complex warehouse operation and its network, working on key projects related to warehouse efficiency, supply chain optimization and data-driven improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Just-in-time delivery optimization: analyze material movement between the central warehouse and manufacturing point-of-use locations, evaluate ways to reduce inventory holding and recommend improvements to material flow.
• Warehouse capacity and space optimization: support planning and execution of point-of-use expansion, perform utilization and storage effectiveness analysis, and recommend layout improvements.
• Process transformation: take part in central warehouse re-layout and process improvement projects, analyze workflows, find bottlenecks and support productivity initiatives.
• Supply chain analytics and problem solving: use operational dashboards and SAP data to spot trends, run root-cause analysis on escalations and make data-driven recommendations.
• Capstone project: lead an improvement project on warehouse efficiency, material flow or operational analytics and present findings to site leadership.
