Machinery Engineer – Oil & Gas (West)

About the role

We are seeking a Machinery Engineer to provide on‑site engineering support for mechanical equipment in a large oil & gas refinery environment. The role focuses on troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and supporting major maintenance shutdowns while ensuring safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day field engineering support for rotating and static machinery.
• Diagnose equipment failures, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct engineering assessments, design reviews and reliability studies.
• Identify and mitigate recurring “bad actor” equipment issues.
• Support major maintenance activities, including plant turnarounds and equipment inspections.
• Ensure adherence to site safety (SHE) standards and internal control procedures.
• Act as the technical point of contact for machinery‑related matters and provide guidance or training as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in a refinery or petrochemical setting.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical systems, rotating and static equipment.
• Proven ability to apply engineering knowledge to solve operational issues.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
