Manager, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager, Customer Engineer to lead a team delivering service, warranty and start‑up support for semiconductor and display equipment in Singapore. You will drive financial forecasting, operational excellence and customer satisfaction while developing engineering talent.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast financial, manpower and operational requirements for start‑up, warranty and service agreements.
• Identify and pursue service agreement opportunities in collaboration with marketing and sales.
• Manage start‑up projects, controlling time and cost, and oversee local inventory and RMA procedures.
• Maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets and manage system start‑up and warranty costs.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with service performance and system reliability.
• Interview, hire, train and develop customer engineers to support regional business.
• Promote safety practices, quality improvement, and continuous technical performance enhancements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership of a homogeneous engineering team with ability to set goals, communicate progress and develop career plans.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to resolve technical, operational and organizational issues.
• Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and guide teams to meet quality, volume and timeliness objectives.
