Manager, Product Development

About the role

Manulife is looking for a highly motivated, commercially driven Manager / Senior Manager, Product Development to join its Product team. You will drive the development and enhancement of life insurance products from concept through launch, making sure they meet customer needs, business objectives and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Distribution, Actuarial, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance and Risk.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of new products and enhancements from concept to launch, including business cases, product specifications, stakeholder alignment and preparation of point of sale documents.
• Support the product roadmap for assigned portfolios by identifying market opportunities, customer needs and industry trends, and turning them into actionable product initiatives and value propositions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive product initiatives, influence alignment and resolve issues timely.
• Partner with distribution teams to develop and run sales campaigns that drive product adoption and business growth.
• Ensure effective execution through strong governance, risk oversight and disciplined project delivery.
• Support other product initiatives and projects as required from time to time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in life insurance product development, product strategy, pricing or related roles.
• Experience developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of insurance product design, customer value propositions, market dynamics, competitive positioning and insurance processes.
• Analytical, commercial, problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Good communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
