Manufacturing Biotechnologist

About the role

Roche is looking for a Manufacturing Biotechnologist in Central Singapore to support its Biochemical Manufacturing Department. The role carries overall accountability for completing manufacturing tasks on schedule while fully complying with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Roche's corporate principles, quality policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare small equipment, clean and sterilize vessels, prepare solutions, monitor and operate biochemical processing equipment, sample raw materials, perform dispensing and environmental monitoring sampling, and keep the area tidy in line with safety, cGMP and biochemical manufacturing guidelines.
• Prioritize assigned tasks, document work according to approved manufacturing formulae, and troubleshoot equipment and process problems.
• Support process improvement efforts and operate computers for process control and data entry.
• Take part in staff and shift-change meetings, work closely with other shift personnel and external support groups, and report safety incidents and near misses promptly, supporting incident investigations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Life Sciences or Engineering or equivalent; minimum 3 years of related experience for diploma holders.
• Experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
• Background in microbiology, fermentation or protein purification desired.
• Able to work weekends, off-shifts and overtime, and to lift loads of up to 25 kg.

• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with computer-based systems highly desirable.
