Manufacturing Engineer for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

About the role

BeeX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own the build of its Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs). You will translate engineering designs into repeatable, reliable production processes for vehicles that operate in harsh subsea environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end HAUV assembly, including pressure hulls, thruster modules, electronics enclosures and vehicle‑level integration.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, assembly sequences and build travellers for each subsystem.
• Define standards and train technicians for wiring harness fabrication, crimping, soldering and subsea connector termination.
• Establish sealing, pressure‑integrity and mechanical build processes, manage leak testing and resolve field failures.
• Design jigs, fixtures and tooling to improve consistency and reduce assembly time.
• Set up quality checkpoints, inspection criteria, BOMs and non‑conformance reporting.
• Support cross‑functional teams and coordinate with suppliers and sites in Singapore and Johor Bahru.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, Marine Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing or assembly engineering experience, preferably in robotics, marine, aerospace or defence.
• Hands‑on experience with wiring harnesses, crimping, soldering and connector termination.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, GD&T, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Required skills

• IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 or IPC J‑STD‑001 standards (plus).
• Sealing design, pressure‑housing and waterproofing methods.
• CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360 for fixture and tooling design.
• 3D printing (FDM/SLA/SLS) and CNC‑machined part sourcing.
• Lean manufacturing, FMEA and ISO 9001 quality systems (plus).
