Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain methods, operation sequences and processes for fabricating parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies used in semiconductor and display equipment. The role works closely with other engineering functions to release product improvements and new products while applying lean, automation and continuous‑improvement principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain fabrication methods, operation sequences and processes for parts, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups to launch product improvements and new products, and manage engineering change requests.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
• Apply DFx principles to reduce cost and improve product quality.
• Create and use test procedures, assist in defining test specifications and develop test fixtures.
• Gather operational and test data, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective or continuous‑improvement actions.
• Conduct Process Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMEA) for new product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• More than 3 years of experience in the semiconductor or manufacturing industry.
• Willingness to work a permanent second‑shift schedule (4 pm – 1:30 am) with transport provided.
• Ability to collaborate with global stakeholders and attend meetings across time zones.
• Meticulous, resourceful and proactive attitude.
