Manufacturing Technician (4pm - 1.30am)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and displays, is hiring a Manufacturing Technician in its Tampines facility. The technician works hands-on in a cleanroom environment to build, repair and test multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment, including electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic assemblies, subassemblies and components. The shift runs from 4pm to 1.30am.

Key responsibilities

• Use work orders (schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists and instructions) to build, repair and test equipment of various kinds.
• Perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs under moderate supervision.
• Receive parts, audit their availability, inspect them for defects and help troubleshoot and improve processes.
• Test assemblies and components using test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
• Complete job documentation such as data entry on progress, work expense and labour details, and carry out computer programming, repairs or software installations where needed.

Required profile

• NITEC or Diploma in Engineering and related studies.
• 1-2 years of semiconductor or display experience, or comparable industry or military experience.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures, written and verbal.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
