Manufacturing Technician – Cleanroom Assembly & Testing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment, building and testing multimillion‑dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves assembling, repairing and testing electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic components to support semiconductor and advanced‑display production.

Key responsibilities

• Use work orders, schematics and wiring diagrams to build, repair and test equipment assemblies.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs under moderate supervision.
• Receive parts, conduct audits for availability and inspect for defects.
• Utilise test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to verify assemblies.
• Complete job documentation, including data entry on progress, labor and expenses.
• Execute computer programming, software installs or repairs when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• 1–2 years of experience in semiconductor or display equipment manufacturing (or comparable industry/military experience).
• Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical assembly.
• Troubleshooting of electrical, vacuum and pneumatic systems.

• Operation of leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
