Market Risk Analyst (Metals)

About the role

A leading global commodities trading group with a strong presence in Singapore is looking for a Market Risk Analyst to work on its metals business. The role covers market risk, P&L and trading exposure management, working closely with front-office teams and regional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily trading positions, market risk exposures and P&L attribution across metals trading portfolios, ensuring accurate and timely risk reporting.
• Oversee trade capture, pricing and valuation curves, and mark-to-market calculations.
• Monitor trading activities against approved risk limits, identify and escalate breaches, valuation discrepancies and unusual exposures.
• Work with traders, IT and Risk Management teams to improve ETRM/CTRM systems, risk reporting and support new trading products and strategies.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of market risk experience in commodities trading; metals trading exposure is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of physical commodities and derivatives trading, including positions, hedging and associated market risks.

Required skills

• Hands-on ETRM/CTRM experience, including trade capture, risk reporting, system configuration or enhancements.
• Knowledge of P&L attribution, position and exposure monitoring, pricing curves, valuation methodologies and trading risk limits.
