Material Handler

About the role

Micron is hiring a Material Handler in its warehouse. The role keeps inventory accurate, ensures timely deliveries to internal and external customers and upholds safety, quality and regulatory standards (SOX/ISO). It involves operating material handling equipment, running cycle counts and inventory reconciliation, processing shipments and site-to-site transfers, and working with Procurement, Finance and Quality on compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving: receive materials on time, check documentation, process transactions in SAP, keep records and log discrepancies with Procurement.
• Inventory management: maintain and issue inventory with FIFO, run SOX-compliant cycle counts, create storage bin locations, update part data in SAP, process scrap of damaged parts and support IATF/ISO/quality audits.
• Shipping and logistics: execute site-to-site transfers, package, label and document outgoing shipments, evaluate freight options and ship on dock dates.
• Safety and EHS: follow safety and environmental procedures, use ergonomic handling, handle chemicals according to regulations and keep the workplace clean.
• Continuous improvement: lead or assist new procedures, recommend process changes, drive quality and cost improvements and take part in lean initiatives (6S, TPM, CIP).
• Mentor team members, act as a contact point for internal customers and buyers, and take part in department meetings and audits.

Required profile

• O-level or SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control and shipping/logistics.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (manual and electric pallet jacks, forklifts, delivery vehicles); certification required for powered equipment.
• Working knowledge of SOX cycle counting and ISO/quality audit practices.
• Attention to detail, clear communication with cross-functional partners and a continuous improvement mindset.

Required skills

• SAP inventory management and Material Master data maintenance.
• Cycle counting, reconciliation and root-cause analysis aligned with SOX.
• Shipping documentation and systems.
• Preferred: bin location structures, lean program experience, IATF/ISO/quality and SOX audit support, and familiarity with ergonomics and chemical handling.
