Material Project Manager II

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Material Project Manager II to lead forecasting, sourcing, and material strategy for semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, planning, and supplier teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team and manage product development deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations and conduct risk assessments on critical parts.
• Manage materials change‑control process, track landed‑cost targets, and publish key process indicators.

Required profile

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in materials engineering and related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices and how the materials function integrates with other areas of the business.
• Ability to lead small projects and act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MRP systems for demand planning.
• Experience in supplier negotiation, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
