Materials Project Management

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Materials Project Management professional in Singapore. The role works closely with engineering and suppliers to forecast requirements, manage supplier relationships and support the transition of materials into production.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials and manufacturing requirements to suppliers, and provide input to outsourcing decisions through make versus buy analysis.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure, and participate in the Materials Core Team coordinating product development deliverables with buyers, planners and production control.
• Support the creation, release and update of the materials strategy, and take part in the commercialization (transition) materials plan and the material change control process.
• Assist in supplier price and delivery negotiations and, under direct supervision, negotiate contracts; use the supplier selection and assessment process and complete supplier risk assessments for critical and unique parts.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality and cost, and resolve supplier quality issues with engineering.
• Work with engineering on critical and long-lead parts, inspection requirements, supplier and commodity roadmaps, and value analysis of build-to-print components for Should Cost analysis.
• Meet cost objectives, resolve quality issues, generate and publish KPIs, track landed cost targets, and plan dual sourcing, safety stock and capacity reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of supply chain planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Ability to collaborate in a team and adapt to a challenging, changing environment.
• Semiconductor end-to-end process knowledge, with a technical understanding of front-end wafer fabrication, sort, assembly and test, is preferred.

Required skills

• Supply chain planning and MRP coordination.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
