Materials Project Manager (B3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager (B3) to lead the procurement and material strategy for its advanced manufacturing facilities in Singapore. The role combines purchasing, supplier management, and material planning to ensure timely delivery of critical components for semiconductor production.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis and support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers, and conduct supplier risk assessments.
• Manage material change‑control processes, track landed‑cost targets, and publish key process indicators.
• Collaborate with engineering to identify critical and long‑lead parts and support quality issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials procurement, supply chain, or related manufacturing roles.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Experience conducting make‑versus‑buy and cost‑to‑serve analyses.
