Materials Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Manager to oversee the supply of key outsourced modules and components that feed into its semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves managing material health, supplier readiness, and inventory programs across global sites while supporting the company’s innovation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage supply of critical outsourced modules, providing weekly material health readouts to supply‑chain executives.
• Host supplier material readiness reviews and ensure material availability at global Applied locations.
• Allocate market share across assigned suppliers, manage short‑shipments, and drive capacity and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Facilitate internal stakeholder discussions to resolve BOM inaccuracies, engineering spec waivers, and rework orders.
• Lead obsolescence management, transitioning end‑of‑life materials to replacements in collaboration with suppliers.
• Oversee PO management in an MRP system, processing requisitions, change orders, and maintaining accurate part‑level data.
• Influence suppliers and internal teams to meet delivery commitments and conduct quarterly readiness reviews.
• Support logistics cost‑optimization projects and act as first‑line escalation for AP disputes.
