Materials Project Manager – Supply Chain

About the role

As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for purchasing the materials, supplies, machinery, and services that equip Applied Materials’ state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate across teams, monitor inventory, manage delivery scheduling, negotiate with suppliers and procure essential items that turn possibilities into realities for our customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers and supplier account management.
• Drive purchasing activities to achieve the lowest cost while maintaining quality, reliability and urgency.
• Lead inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Manage and lead assigned purchasing projects, overseeing cost, schedule and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with supplier leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to purchasing process improvements and act as trainer for department activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2‑4 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers and marketplace competition.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus.
