Mechanical Engineer

About the role

AB Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its automotive service workshop in Singapore. You will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of vehicles, performing diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, servicing and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension and air‑conditioning faults.
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to manufacturers' recommendations.
• Replace defective parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Conduct engine tune‑ups, oil changes, brake servicing, tyre replacement and wheel alignment.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults and test‑drive vehicles to verify repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and repair reports.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and keep the workshop clean and organized.
• Support fleet maintenance planning to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Liaise with customers or internal departments regarding repair status and recommendations.

Required profile

• Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (entry‑level candidates with appropriate training are welcome).
• Valid Singapore Class 3 Driving Licence (preferred).
• Team player with strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
