Mechanical Engineer Lead – Data Center

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer Lead to oversee renovation and expansion projects for our data centre facilities. You will act as the subject‑matter expert for all mechanical systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expertise on chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, in‑row/in‑rack cooling, AHUs, ventilation and overall HVAC systems.
• Design, review and approve mechanical drawings, method statements and shop drawings.
• Establish engineering standards, operating guidelines and performance benchmarks.
• Lead root‑cause analyses for mechanical incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, ISO, NFPA and local building codes.
• Maintain accurate documentation, system reports and audit records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in data‑centre, mission‑critical or large‑scale HVAC/mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of chilled‑water systems, air distribution, thermal management and redundancy design.
• Proven experience in cooling optimisation, PUE improvement and energy‑efficiency initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and vendor/project management skills.
