Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance (Jurong Island)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the maintenance team at our power plant on Jurong Island. The role focuses on ensuring reliable operation of plant equipment through effective planning, supervision, and hands‑on troubleshooting while upholding the highest safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all plant equipment and utilities, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule and safety requirements.
• Lead daily manpower planning, allocate resources and provide on‑the‑job training to develop staff capabilities.
• Perform frontline troubleshooting of equipment failures to maintain high availability.
• Guide maintenance personnel and external contractors to execute work in an engineering‑sound manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and data in the CMMS, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Support the power plant in meeting contractual, technical and commercial obligations.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by plant management.

Required profile

• Engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with mechanical equipment in power or process plants.
• Hands‑on experience in erection, commissioning and start‑up phases is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and ability to develop team capabilities.

Required skills

• Pumps, compressors, HRSG, valves and fans.
• Vibration monitoring and alignment of rotating equipment.
• Lubrication practices.
• Use of CMMS for maintenance record keeping.
• Installation, troubleshooting, routine inspection and maintenance of plant systems.
