Medical Laboratory Technologist

About the role

NHG is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to oversee the day-to-day management of its Clinical and Satellite laboratories, supervise and guide laboratory staff, and ensure the quality and competence of testing performed on patient specimens.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight of the day-to-day management of the Clinical and Satellite laboratories.
• Supervise, train and guide laboratory staff deployed to the Clinical and Satellite laboratories.
• Evaluate any equipment or test methodology before it is used on patient specimens.
• Oversee the laboratory quality management system, including quality control measures, monitoring of test process performance and review of external quality assurance programs.
• Lead investigations and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
• Conduct competency assessments and ensure every staff member is competent to perform their tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Non-judgmental attitude.
