Metrology Technician – Precision Inspection

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, is seeking a Metrology Technician to perform dimensional inspections of parts using precision measurement tools and ensure manufactured components meet strict specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections of parts using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Verify the accuracy of manufactured parts and ensure inspection methods follow established procedures.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and sketches, adapting measurement devices as needed.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
• Populate standard reports with test results and document quality issues accurately.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in metrology or precision measurement is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T concepts and internationally accepted units of measurement.
• Strong observation, logical thinking and communication skills.
• Willingness to work the 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 1:30 AM) Monday to Friday.

Required skills

• Use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Interpretation of technical drawings and GD&T.
