Microbiologist

About the role

Eurofins Scientific, an international life sciences company offering analytical testing services, is hiring a Microbiologist in Singapore. The role covers routine and non-routine microbiological testing, laboratory maintenance and compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on routine and non-routine samples according to SOPs and client requirements, within holding time and turnaround time.
• Prepare culture media, reagents and laboratory supplies in line with quality standards.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with GLP, ISO 17025 and SINGLAS quality systems, and perform internal QC duties on time.
• Take part in proficiency tests and interlaboratory analyses, and in method validation, verification and continuous improvement.
• Support internal, external audits and regulatory inspections, and escalate issues to the Senior Microbiologist, Principal Microbiologist or Lab Manager.
• Maintain aseptic technique, biosafety, daily housekeeping and laboratory inventory.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Biological Science, Microbiology or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience, excluding internship.
• Good communication skills, teamwork orientation and adaptability to changes in schedule and operations.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Good analytical skills and understanding of scientific writing.
• Knowledge of microbiological testing and aseptic techniques.
