Multi‑Skilled Operator – Civil Maintenance

About the role

Join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining public infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems and footpaths. This full‑time position offers a varied, hands‑on environment where safety and compliance are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out road, drainage, footpath and general civil maintenance tasks to required standards.
• Operate council vehicles, plant and tools safely, including front‑end loaders, backhoes, forklifts and light hydraulic cranes.
• Place traffic control signage, barriers and lights in accordance with safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew, maintain accurate records and support a customer‑focused service.

Required profile

• Experience in road infrastructure, drainage and cleansing maintenance activities.
• Proven ability to operate vehicles and plant safely and competently.
• Knowledge of traffic control requirements and confined‑space safety procedures.
• Licence to operate front‑end loader/backhoe and forklift; heavy rigid truck licence preferred.
• Willingness to complete mandatory pre‑employment checks (NCCHC, functional capacity assessment, driver’s licence).
