Network & Cyber Security Engineer (18 Months Contract)

About the role

ABB is looking for an experienced Network & Cybersecurity Engineer for an 18-month contract, reporting to the Automation Engineering Manager. The role covers the design, implementation and security of the ABB 800xA-based ICSS and PMS network infrastructure, from engineering and FAT through site installation, testing and commissioning. It is onsite and sits at the intersection of industrial automation, network architecture and OT cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, configure and test the 800xA ICSS and PMS network infrastructure (industrial switches, routers, firewalls, redundancy, VLANs, IP addressing, firewall/DMZ rules, time sync).
• Implement cybersecurity controls per the Cybersecurity Design Specification under IEC 62443: server and workstation hardening, Active Directory and RBAC, antimalware, application whitelisting, port/USB lockdown, secure remote access, patching and backups.
• Prepare engineering and testing deliverables such as configuration files, IP/VLAN schedules, FAT and SAT test procedures, test reports and as-built documentation.
• Take part in FAT and SAT, including network validation, cybersecurity verification testing and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunication or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial network and/or OT cybersecurity engineering, testing and commissioning on DCS/ICSS/PMS platforms; offshore, marine or FPSO experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with industrial network design (switches, routers, firewalls) in an ICSS/PMS environment.

Required skills

• Experience with ABB System 800xA or comparable DCS platforms (Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC/OPC UA, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and IEC 61850.
