Nutrition & Food Science Assistant (Contract)

About the role

The Nutrition & Food Science (NFS) Assistant supports teaching staff in school cookery rooms and food labs, ensuring a clean and safe environment for practical lessons. This contract position is ideal for candidates who are meticulous, service‑oriented, and can work efficiently within set deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all equipment, work surfaces, sinks, floors and waste bins in cookery rooms and food labs.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation by measuring, mincing, and apportioning ingredients.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels of food ingredients to ensure reliable classroom supplies.
• Perform post‑lesson cleanup, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying rubbish bins.
• Complete additional ad‑hoc tasks assigned by school supervisors or leaders.

Required profile

• Minimum education: completion of Primary School.
• Ability to speak and understand simple English.
• Excellent personal hygiene standards when handling raw food ingredients.
• Attributes: meticulous, service‑oriented, efficient with deadlines.
• Prior experience as an NFS Assistant in an MOE school context is highly advantageous.
