Ocean Export Agent – Customer Service

About the role

Expeditors is seeking a bilingual Ocean Export Agent to join its fast‑paced logistics team. You will provide exceptional service to internal and external customers while ensuring timely processing of international shipments and related administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with customers to process international shipments according to company procedures.
• Enter shipment data accurately and promptly, following department workflow.
• Prepare and update DLSOP documentation to meet customer SOPs.
• Screen customer creditworthiness and verify prohibited parties before shipment.
• Generate accurate client and vendor invoices in line with Expeditors and customer standards.
• Maintain good relationships with shipping lines, trucking companies, CFS providers and other suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations, avoiding fines or late filings.
• Obtain required export permits prior to shipment.
• Meet KPI targets for documentation, invoicing and response times (email within 24 h, voicemail within 1 h).
• Escalate issues to management when necessary and support additional departmental tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum tertiary education.
• 1–2 years of related experience or equivalent training.
• Understanding of ocean documentation processes is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proactive attitude with solid organizational skills.
