Ophthalmology Consultant / Senior Consultant & Clinical Associate

About the role

Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) is seeking qualified ophthalmology professionals to join its specialist team. Open positions include Consultant/Senior Consultant (Specialist Doctor) across several subspecialties and Clinical Associate roles for doctors with ophthalmology experience. Successful candidates will work at SNEC’s main campus and its regional satellite sites such as Changi General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmic consultations, diagnosis and management in designated subspecialties.
• Perform surgeries and laser procedures as required.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, contribute to teaching programmes and research activities.
• Manage inpatient care, obtain informed consent and communicate treatment plans to patients and families.
• Assist senior consultants in outpatient clinics and ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Basic medical degree registrable with the Singapore Medical Council.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Ophthalmology (e.g., MMed, FRCOphth) and completion of an accredited specialist training programme.
• Eligibility for specialist registration with the Singapore Medical Council and accreditation by the Specialist Accreditation Board.
• Strong teaching and research track record (publications beneficial).
