OutSystems Architect

About the role

NCS, an AI tech services company and subsidiary of the Singtel Group, is hiring an OutSystems Architect in Singapore on a contract basis. The architect designs the architecture and provides independent technical leadership on large, complex OutSystems projects, covering both OutSystems 11 (O11) and OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).

Key responsibilities

• Define system-level architecture, including high-level design, architectural policies, development guidelines, implementation risks, integration strategies and software configuration controls.
• Take part in requirement analysis, highlight gaps and challenges to business analysts, and write the Technical Design Specification (TDS).
• Lead the project through OutSystems design and development methodologies, explain the chosen architecture to clients and ensure best practices and reusable components such as Forge components and custom accelerators are used.
• Troubleshoot technical problems, including performance optimisation, integration issues and platform-specific challenges.
• Coach, train and mentor Associate Architects and developers, share knowledge through Communities of Practice, run training courses and contribute to the knowledge repository.
• Take part in pre-sales solution reviews, client presentations and proof-of-concept demos, and support Technical Pre-sales teams with solution design and effort estimation.

Required profile

• One or more of the following certifications: OutSystems Architecture Specialist (O11 or ODC), or OutSystems Tech Lead (O11).
• Typically 10-15 years of experience in technical roles with in-depth knowledge of architectural principles.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with the OutSystems platform (O11 and/or ODC).
• Experience developing and deploying large, scalable production applications on OutSystems.
• Able to travel as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and OutSystems cloud deployment models.
• Working knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines, including OutSystems LifeTime.
• OutSystems architecture patterns, RESTful and SOAP web services, API design, relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data modelling.
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Reactive Web and mobile development with OutSystems.
• Enterprise technology standards, security best practices and data privacy compliance.
• Strong written and spoken English, problem-solving and communication skills.
